Employment Discrimination
By law, employers cannot discriminate against employees in hiring, promoting, assigning jobs, termination and compensation. Employment discrimination can be intentional or unintentional, but either way, it is wrong and illegal.
Employment laws protect employees from workplace harassment and discrimination, especially when the cause of inappropriate workplace conduct is the employee's protected status. Protected status defines most minority status, including national origin, race, religion, disability, sex or pregnancy. Under national workplace laws, employment decisions such promotion, termination or pay are required to be based on merit, not on one's protected status.
